White Rock Lake Artists' Studio Tour

I flew to Dallas on Friday to spend the weekend with Granola Grrrl in her charming bungalow full of kids and cats and chai. On Saturday, we went on a tour of artists' studios in a neighborhood not far from her home. Most of the studios were located in rustic sheds and outbuildings behind the artists' homes.

Not only did we get to see a lot of cool art and meet the artists, but we also enjoyed observing their environments which reflected their personalities, sources of inspiration, and creativity. Not all the art was inside the studio. It spilled out into the yards and gardens we walked through.

A few scenes from the tour:

I love open studio tours. Several occur annually in Tucson and the artists and their spaces never fail to inspire and delight. Artists... <3

What a wonderful yellow studio! I lived in the Dallas area as a kid and all I remember around White Rock Lake were large, traditional homes. I assisted my father during a few of his triathlons at White Rock Lake 25 years ago. Glad there's more to come.

That totally reminds me of our Wimberley Days here in Central Texas. You would LOVE Wimberley Days!!!! Like 3 or 4 acres packed with artsy stuff like that.
