« First day of winter | Main | A jewel from Jewel »

A walk in the winter woods...

...is full of reminders

that there are seasons in life

when everything breaks down

separates from its center

falls apart.

Mysteriously

the painful death of what was

becomes quietly beautiful

on the way to

yielding something fiercely new.

"fiercely new" ... I like that.

I hate to be contrary but... I loved it until the word "fiercely". All I could think of was Christian from season 4 of Project Runway. Don't ask why I know such things...

Oh, what a beautiful and poignant post!

I like the word "fierce", too ... but I have trouble with winter. The two we were there, both Leslie and I suffered major bumgloomers toward the end of the gross, wet winter months. She was raised in Southern California, and could adjust. I'm from CT originally, but all the years in CA have made me a woos, I guess.
