Thanks Raquel

Card by Raquel

Earlier this week, at the end of a challenging day, the mailman left a box at my door, decorated with purple swirls and birds. Raquel, a long time reader, had sent me a care package!

I wanted to photograph the contents, but alas, I did not have a camera to capture the beautiful wreath of purple paper flowers that she made or the silver earrings she fashioned using jade, wood, and pearl beads. The chocolate she included has, um, disappeared, but I can, however, share her beautiful card with you (thank God for my scanner!).

I so appreciate the thoughtfulness, time, and effort that went into this very personal package. I hung the flowered wreath in my purple studio, and when I'm not wearing the earrings, I hook them on the calendar of Japanese art that sits on my desk so I can enjoy them that way too. I love the way the pearls contrast with the earthiness of the wood and jade. (The bird card pictured above is perched on my dressing table and reminds me to Think Spring.)

Thanks Raquel for brightening my day, sharing your creativity, and appreciating what I do here.  : )
