Scenes from a wedding

There comes a moment on every trip where i wake up in yet another bed-that-is-not-mine and wistfully think of the bathrobe hanging on the bedpost at home, the cats sprawled in puddles of sunshine near my front door, and the enthusiastic tail wagging of my Number One Fan, tugging on his leash.

I had a great time at a family wedding at The Cloister on Sea Island and loved catching up with family from all over the U.S. However, this morning I woke up at 5:30 a.m. in South Carolina and thought, "I can't wait to be home."

And here I am, once again in Virginia, with a handful of photos to share:

A canopy of Spanish moss

In the chapel

The flower girls (my nieces).

The wee ring bearers, nephews of the groom, visiting America from England.

The dining room, completely lit with candles, and decorated with silver vases of creamy hydrangeas and arrangements of antique books, was like something out of Southern Living magazine. Magical.

I don't have an appropriate photo of the bride and groom to share, so I'll leave you with one more of my niece's beautiful red curls:

Here's to happily ever after!

I've loved all the photos I've seen-- looks like it was just gorgeous! L's girls are just too cute. :)

I like the moss canopy photo...it's kind of a "two paths in the wood" sort of thing.

Thank you : )

I wish I had more photos, but I didn't want to spend the event trying to figure out how to deal with low light and lots of people. I took lots of photos of the sea.
